As a small sport and recreation charity managing the area’s only astroturf pitch, we realised we would need to urgently replace our 14-year-old halogen floodlights with LEDs to mitigate the effects of the substantial energy price increase on the hundreds of football and hockey players who use our facilities every week.

Direct Sports Lighting was one of four companies invited to tender and, from the outset, we were impressed by the company’s speed of response, professionalism, product quality and price.

The company was entirely understanding of our requirements and within 3 weeks of acceptance of their tender, a site inspection had been carried out, the work put in hand and the installation
completed within two days, with no disruption to our users or loss of fee income.

We found the DSL workforce extremely diligent, putting in long hours to ensure the changeover was
finished on time and on budget.

And we are delighted with the end result. The new lights have made a tremendous difference to our
users’ enjoyment of the pitch and, most importantly, to a significant reduction in electricity costs
and a saving of over 5 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
